A set of eight stoneware apothecary jars from Fred Halstead’s pharmacy in St Hubert’s St, Upper Harwood, Lancashire.  Dating the the early 20th century there are six 1lb jars and two 2lb jars, each stamped to the bottom.  One is stamped  with the Bourne, Denby mark which, in that form,  was in use 1905-1920s.  The original content gilt labels are retained to the fronts with the exotic sounding contents listed.  One retains the original paper chemist address label which is very unusual to see as these have so often been removed. 


Measuring: 16 cm tall (2lb jars) and 12 cm tall (1lb jars).
